🧾 Ingredients

Meat Sauce

  • 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Cheese Filling

  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

Layers

  • 12 San Giorgio lasagna noodles, cooked al dente
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

👩‍🍳 Instructions

Step 1: Make Sauce

Heat olive oil in skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook until soft. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds. Add beef and cook until browned. Stir in marinara, crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer 10–15 minutes.

Step 2: Prepare Ricotta Mixture

In bowl, combine ricotta, egg, Parmesan, and parsley.

Step 3: Assemble Lasagna

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread thin layer of sauce in bottom of 9×13-inch baking dish. Layer noodles, ricotta mixture, sauce, and mozzarella. Repeat layers, finishing with mozzarella on top.

Step 4: Bake

Cover with foil and bake 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 15–20 minutes until bubbly and golden. Rest 10 minutes before slicing.

⭐ Tips for the Best Lasagna

  • Slightly undercook noodles so they don’t get mushy
  • Let lasagna rest before slicing for clean layers
  • Add spinach or mushrooms for veggie boost
  • Use part-skim ricotta for lighter texture

❄️ Storage

Refrigerate up to 4 days or freeze up to 3 months.
