The Best Homemade Ranch Dressing

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup mayonnaise (use a good-quality, full-fat one)
  • ½ cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt for a healthier twist)
  • ¼ cup buttermilk (add more for a thinner dressing)
  • 1 tsp dried dill (or 1 tbsp fresh, finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp dried parsley (or 1 tbsp fresh)
  • ½ tsp dried chives (or 1 tsp fresh)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp lemon juice or a splash of white vinegar (for tang)

Instructions:

  1. Mix It All Together:
In a bowl, whisk together mayo, sour cream, and buttermilk until smooth.
  2. Add Herbs and Seasonings:
Stir in dill, parsley, chives, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and lemon juice.
  3. Chill for Flavor:
Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to overnight). The flavor improves as it sits.
  4. Adjust Consistency (Optional):
If you want it thinner for pouring, stir in more buttermilk 1 tablespoon at a time.

🧄 Pro Tips:

  • Use fresh herbs if possible for extra flavor.
  • Keeps for up to 7 days in the fridge.
  • Add a pinch of sugar if you like your ranch a bit sweeter.
